Published by John Murray in 1865. A red-brown cloth hard-cover in original binding. The front and back covers are faded with soiling apparent in the photos. The spine is also faded and soiled. There is a  gilt illustration on the cover and lettering on the spine. The front illustration and rear map are present and complete. There are new end-papers. The page edges are slightly browned and the pages are remarkably clean other than some very slight browning. The binding is tight. If the covers were cleaner I would have rated this very good.

This is an account of Livingstone's 1858 expedition he made with his brother. They were exploring the Zambesi river through Eastern and Central Africa.
