The Violet Fairy Book edited by Andrew Lang.
 
This is a a "New impression" published in 1913 by Longman's, Green and Co.
 
The cover and spine are,of course, violet with slightly faded gilt lettering and illustrations. The hinges are slightly loose but holding well. The text-block edges are gilt. The book has some minimal scattered foxing. There are seven colour plates and numerous black and white illustrations.
 
This is yet another of the Lang 'rainbow series' of fairy-tales. All collectible and all desirable.
 
This is in very good condition.
