This is a hard-cover in blue cloth published by Longmans, Green and Co.. The cover and spine have bright gilt lettering and illustrations on them. The cover shows some light wear only with slight bumping to the to and bottom of the spine. The text-block edges are gilt.The book shows some light scattered foxing. the binding is tight. There are numerous black and white illustrations.
 
This was a children's book which was a little different to Lang's usual collections of fictitious stories. The stories here relate to adventures and tales of notable historic figures. He produced this book to entertain and educate.
 
A very good copy.
