The Theory of Colour in Relation to Art and Art-Industry by Dr Wlihelm von Bezold. Translated fron the German by S.R. Koehler.
 
A first edition, hard-cover published by L. Prang and Company in 1876. It has a green cloth cover with some slight soiling and small amount of fraying at ends of the spine and slight bumping to the corners. There are some faint pencil annotations on the free-front pages. There is slight browning to the pages but otherwise the book is  in very good condition. There is a colour plate (chromolithograph) as a frontspiece shown here in photos and colour plates at the back of the  book (14) all with their original tissue paper. There are various black and white diagrams thoughout the book.
 
This is an important early book discussing colour. It is a very well preserved copy.
