The Simarillion by Tolkien, 1977, export copy, first edition, first impression.

This hard-cover with dust-wrapper was published by George Allen & Unwin and printed by William Clowes and Sons Ltd. It has an unclipped jacket with no price on it. The book is in bright blue cloth with gold lettering on the spine. There is a coloured head and tail band on the spine.

The release of this book preceded the UK edition. It's publication was organised posthumously by Tolkien's son, Christopher.

The book is in near fine condition. The wrapper has some light scuffing and one crease on it. There is some very light spotting to the text-block edges other then the top which has the blue/purple stain albeit lightly faded. The text is otherwise clean with a tight spine. The map is, of course, present.
