The Shepherd's Calender by Edmund Spenser and illustrated by Walter Crane.
 
This was published by Harper Bros, in 1898 and is a particularly nice copy. The cover is very bright with slight bumping to the corners. The end-papers are illustrated. The gutters show some cracking and as a consequence the hinges are tender but holding well. The book shows some minimal browning and is in very good condition internally.
 
This was Edmund Spenser's first major poetic work, originally published in the sixteenth century. This work is wonderfully enhanced by Crane's illustrations.
