The Illustration of Books by Joseph Pennell, 1896.
The book has a perforated presentation stamp on the top right corner of the free-front page. It reads"with the compliments of the publisher". It was published by T. Fisher Unwin . Further information as to the contents of the book are under the title where it reads " A manual for the use of student's lectures at the Slade School, University College." Joseph Pennell was, of course, a very famous illustrator and the pearls of wisdom in this book complement his work.
The cover is worn with some small losses. The front of the text-block is rough cut. The pages edges are browned and the pages are lightly browned. The gutters show some light cracking but the binding is holding.
