The Gremlins by Flight Lieutenant Roald Dahl. A first Australian edition, published by Ayre and James P./L. in 1943.  This was published in the same year as the American edition.This comes with a dust-wrapper which obviously is rather 'tired'. It has been wrapped in a non-adhesive polyproylene cover with paper backing in particular because of the chips, most obvious on the front of the cover. The book itself is in a good state but shows some marks ? grease on the bottom of some of the early pages shown in the photo of the title page and the photo of the  page which follows. The dust-wrapper shows chips and creases. The covers themselves show some edge wear and are otherwise clean and bright. The front end-papers have an inscription on them and the rear ones show some small losses (see photo). There is some light foxing on the half-title page. The remaining pages are clean and the illustrations are bright. The binding is firm.
