The Carrey Drawings of the Parthenon Sculptures.
 
These were published by the Indiana University Press in 1971. This is a
very large book (430x385mm). The boards are covered in red and black cloth with gilt lettering and decorations. There is a small raised area of cloth (3x5mm) on the front otherwise the cover is in excellent condition. The binding is tight and the pages are clean.
 
These drawings were originally done by Jacques Carrey in 1674. Like so many illustrated, historic records, they show structures, in this case the Parthenon, before the ravages of time have altered its appearance.
