The Canary by Rev. Francis Smith. A third edition , published in 1872 by Groombridge and Sons.

A red-brown cloth cover with gilt lettering and a gilt illustration of a bird and some black in-fill to the lettering and black decorations on the front-cover. The cover shows some light wear. There is an ink gift dedication above the half-title dated 1872. The text-block edges are gilt. There is some very light occasional foxing in the book. The illustrations are bright and clean and largely in colour. The binding is tight.

The illustrations are a delight and a must for every canary lover. A very good copy plus copy.
