The Bridge on the Drina by Ivo Andric, first UK edition.

This was published as a hard-cover by George  Allen and Unwin in 1959. The dust-wrapper shows some slight wear on the front and spine with some soiling including from the base of a cup on the rear (see photo). The front paste-down and free-front page have previous owner's  name and details and some old sticky tape marks. Other than slight light browning the rest of the book is quite clean  and the binding is tight.

This  story spans about four centuries and covers the Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian occupations of the region. It tells a lot about the lives, destinies, and relations of the local inhabitants, in particular, the Serbs and Bosnian Muslims.
