Shakespeare's Household Words illuminated by Sam Stanesby. Published by Griffin and Farrer in c. 1850-1859 (n.d.) Printed in colours by Ashbee and Dangerfield. A brown cloth book with bevelled edges ans some very slight wear on the cover edges. The cover has bright gilt decorations and lettering with some white and blue. The gilt on the spine is a little faded. The text block page edges are gilt The end-papers appear new. All the pages with text and illuminations are remarkably bright and clean. There is some slight foxing on the blank pages. The spine is tight. This is a very good plus copy.
