The cover is green cloth with gilt decorations and lettering to it and the spine.There is some light wear to the gilt and it is still bright. There is some light soiling and wear to the edges.There is a book seller's label on the front paste-down and a bookbinder's label (Burn & Co.) on the rear paste-down. There is some cracking to the gutters but the binding is firm. The text-block edges are gilt. There is some light toning through the book and otherwise the pages are clean. On page 78 there are some pencil annotations next to an illustration. There are numerous illustrations.
