Modern Practical Carpentry by George Ellis.
This is the second revised edition published by B.T.Batsford. There is an author's preface dated 1915. This is a much respected book on carpentry with about 1100 black and white illustrations. Of interest is the cursive inscription on the free-rear page which reads "S.S.Benalla". It may well have been used on this ship which was delivered in 1913, used as an Australian expeditionary force transport in 1914 and subsequently used by the P &O line.
The cover is brown cloth with black lettering and light soiling, wear and bumped corners. there is bumping on the top and bottom of the spine. Both gutters are cracked and the front hinge is tender. The book shows some light scattered foxing.
The book is in good to very good condition.
