Maxims and Precepts of the Saviour. This was illuminated by Noel Humphreys and published by Longmans in 1848. The book is undated. The cover is embossed morocco leather with bevelled edges. There are wonderful colour decorations and gilt lettering . The back is the same. There is some slight wear to the lettering. The decorations and their colours are truly impressive. The spine has been rebacked. The text-block edges are gilt. Each page of this religious book contains text and extremely vivid chromolithograph illustrations.  There are some very occasional marks on the pages. The binding is tight.
A particularly special book in very good plus condition.
