Little Red Riding-Hood Picture Book 1865/1866

This is a hard-cover published by George Routledge. There are four stories with brilliant illustrations. The first two and the last were illustrated by Harrison Weir (with his name on the illustrations in the last story) and the third was done by Joseph Martin Kronheim perhaps with some involvement from Weir. The printing was done  by the Leighton Brothers. The illustrations are chromolithographs.

The four stories are "Little Red Riding-Hood", "the Three Bears", "Dash and the Ducklings", and "the Three Little Kittens".

The cover is green cloth with only slightly worn gilt lettering and with a red and gilt illustration of little red riding-hood and presumably a wolf. The spine has a slightly more faded title of gilt. The cover shows some wear which is quite minimal and some bumping to the corners and perhaps more so at the top and bottom of the spine. the gutters are cracked but the binding is holding. There is foxing to the text-block edges,  preliminaries and  some blank areas through the book. There are a few tears on the thinner pages without illustrations. The illustrations are vivid, complete and clean. A good copy plus.
