Khaki and Green still sealed, 1943.

This is an original book from 1943. It was published for the Australian Military Forces by the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. It comes in its original cardboard postal box and appears never to have been opened. The box has on it that it is to be returned to the "Military History Section" and postage paid as 3d. There is an address label on it which has been blacked out and this was obviously used as a gift label as below it is an area that says "best wishes from and a date 194...". There is also a stamped code K378385 (probably and Australian Army service number).

The book was written by serving members of the Australian Army, it contains firsthand stories, sketches, photographs, maps, red-wash drawings, and 28 colored illustrations documenting soldiers' service in Australia and overseas.

Obviously as the box in it has never been opened it is presumed the book inside is still sealed and in original condition. It is quite unique to find a copy in its postal box and unopened. there is a strip on the back of the box which suggests there may have been another label or tape there.
