De Cupidinis et Psyches Amoribus Fabula Anilis is by Lucius Apuleius and was published by Vale Press in 1901. This is a private and respected publishing company.
 
There are five superb wood-cut illustrations by Charles Ricketts. This is one of 310 copies on thick, handmade paper. The cover has some obvious wear. This includes loss of the title label on the top right-hand corner and a crushed area visible on the top right of the cover and also seen on the back. This has made a negligible impression on a few of the back, blank pages.
 
The contents of the book are in very good condition. There is  obvious browning to the blank first and last few pages and some light scattered browning to some of the page edges. The illustrations and text are very clean. I will insure when sent.
 
This is a very sought after book, in particular because of the very fine illustrations.
