Dalziel's Illustrated Arabian Night's Entertainment with revised text by H. Dulcken.
This was published circa1870 by Ward, Lock and Tyler. It has a brown ornately decorated cloth cover with bevelled edges. The covers and spine all have bright gilt decorations and lettering. There is some light wear to the edges, more apparent at the top and bottom of the spine. The text-block edges are gilt.
There is some cracking in the gutters but the binding is holding well.
There are some losses in the above photo on the free-front page.
There is some very light scattered foxing through the book but it is more apparent on the title page. There are some rippled pages. There are numerous black and white illustrations.
This books has 'upwards of 200 illustration by eminent artists" and was engraved by the renown Dalziel Bros. The stories originally were Middle Eastern folktales. While this is one of many versions it distinguishes itself by the collection of illustrations it contains. A good copy plus.
