Birds of La Plata by W.H.Hudson. Two volumes published by J.M. Dent (US edition) in 1920 and limited to 1500 copies.
 
These have green cloth covers with a bright gilt illustration on the front and lettering on the spine. The covers show some light wear and soiling. Then pages show some very light scattered foxing. The coloured illustrations are bright and clean. The bindings are perhaps a little loose but holding well.
 
The books are about  ornithology in the La Plata region of South America, Hudson being a naturalist and ornithologist. They are remarkably comprehensive. The books are very good copies. These are heavy books.
