A Naturalist's Rambles on the Devonshire Coast by Philip Gosse. Published by John Van Voorst in 1853.A first edition. A brown, embossed, cloth covered book. The spine has slightly faded gilt lettering. The cover shows some wear and fading with slightly bumped corners  and to the top and bottom of the spine. Both gutters are cracked and the hinges are tender. The book shows light scattered browning and some scattered foxing. A few small closed tears bon the index pages. A number of the illustrations are hand coloured. There are some very old scattered library stamps through the book saying"Australian Subscription Library 1926"
