1872, Beautiful Leaved Plants by E.J.Lowe.
 
The creation of this book was assisted by W.Howard and published by Bell and Daldy. Lowe was an astronomer and a botanist. This book gives extensive information about the plants featured in the book with sixty truly stunning chromolithographs.
 
The cover is red cloth with a very slightly faded gilt illustration of. a pot with leaves. The spine has gilt decorations with text. The cover and spine show light wear mainly on the edges. there is some foxing to the preliminaries. The text-block edges show some spotting. There is a previous owner's name at the top of the title page. There is some very slight occasional foxing scattered though the book. The chromolithographs are clean with vivid colours. The binding is tight. 
 
This is a very good copy. The second volume is also for sale. i will pay for insurance for mailing.
