The Common Moths of England
This was published by George Routledge in 1870 (no date in the book). The illustrations are by E. Smith, T.W.Wood and W.S.Coleman.
This has a blue pebbled cloth cover, bevelled at the edges. There are gilt moths and borders on the front which show light wear and the spine has gilt lettering and decorations again with light wear. the text-block edges are gilt.
There some some gift inscriptions on the front paste-down (slightly smudged) and a pencil annotation on the back of the frontis-piece. There is some very rare foxing on the pages, the 12 coloured illustrations are present, bright and clean. the binding is tight.
The twelve coloured illustrations are excellent. They are hand-coloured and are a feature of this book. A very good copy.
