1870, New and Rare Beautiful Leaved Plants by Shirley Hibberd,first edition.
 
This was published by Bell and Daldy. As with the first edition it contains 54 extraordinary chromolithographs. This book comes with an additional two plates which are loose and coloured to the full size of the page. They appear to be part of the book but an addition. The last photo is one of the pages. Again, as with the first volume the pictures are accompanied by detailed text references.
 
The cover is red cloth. There is a slightly faded gilt illustration. The spine has gilt lettering and illustrations. There is light wear to the edges. The text-block edges shows some light spotting. The preliminaries show some foxing. There is some very slight foxing scattered through the book. there is some off-setting on a few pages. the chromolithographs are clean and vivid. There is a very rare spot on the blank part of the illustrated pages.
 
The book is very good plus. I will pay for insurance when mailed.
