This is a green cloth, hard-cover, published by Van Voorst, Paternoster Row.
 
The cover has gilt lettering and decorations as does the spine. the gilt is quite bright. There is light wear only, more obvious on the edges and the top and bottom of the spine. There is some light browning to the top of the text-block edges. There is a superficial crack of 1cm in the front gutter. There is a previous book-seller's stamp on the front paste-down. The pages are remarkably clean with some slight occasional foxing only and the colour lithographs are vivid. The erratum slip on page 1 is present.
 
The book is an excellent treatise on sea anemones and corals with both detailed descriptions and illustrations. Overall it is in very good to near fine condition at least.
